Review by hotel critic
After a remarkable stay at Fluminense, I am delighted to share that this hotel far surpassed my high expectations. From the moment Marcio at the front desk warmly welcomed me, I knew I was in for a special experience. the air conditioning in my room was not only efficient but also surprisingly quiet, allowing for a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the vibrant Lapa region. the mini-bar in the room was well-stocked with local treats, adding an extra touch of hospitality. the terrace offered stunning views of the bustling streets below, providing a perfect spot to unwind with a Caipirinha after a day of immersing myself in the rich Afro-Brazilian culture of the neighborhood. the close proximity to various local eateries, such as Multifoco Bistro and Calango Carioca Tapiocaria, made culinary exploration a breeze. Fluminense not only met but exceeded my stringent criteria, offering a truly authentic and enriching experience that celebrated Brazil's vibrant heritage. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a deeply immersive stay in the heart of Rio's Afro-Brazilian culture. A heartfelt thank you to the exceptional staff who made my stay truly unforgettable.
